Tématem této magisterské diplomové práce je zobrazení skutečných událostí ve filmu Kluci nepláčou režisérky Kimberly Peirce. Mým cílem je popsat, jakým způsobem se podařilo ztvárnit skutečného transsexuála Teenu Brandon (Brandona) jako hlavní filmovou postavu a převést její příběh na plátno tak, aby byl zajímavý pro širokou veřejnost. Nejprve budu studovat Teenin životní příběh zachycený v knize All She Wanted od Ahprodite Jones, který porovnám se vzniklým filmem. Budu také zkoumat důvody zájmu médií o Teenin případ. Na závěr shrnu prostředky, které režisérka použila k vyprávění příběhu podle skutečné události. |

The topic of this master's diploma thesis is the depiction of true events in the film Boys don't cry by Kimberly Peirce. My goal is to reveal how she managed to portray real transsexual Teena Brandon (Brandon) as the main character and transfer the story to the screen so that it is interesting for the general public. Firstly I'll study Teena's real life story from the book All She Wanted by Aphrodite Jones and compare it with the film. I'll also examine reasons of the interest of the media in this case. In closing, I'll summarize the means, that the director used to tell the story based on real events. |
